FOP Scholarship Information

The awards were based on scholastic merit, economic need, and the applicant's stated goals in life. Each applicant supplied high school transcripts. They were not required to be law enforcement hopefuls, but had to pledge to complete all four years of college study.

State Secretary Wayne Winkler and his two committee members,
Robert Fox, Cherry Hill Lodge #28 Steve Demofonte, South Jersey Lodge #56, acted as judges in the competition. To keep the process anonymous, each candidate was assigned a number so that names and other identifying information were unknown during the judging.

The six recipients now must maintain at least a C average in order to retain the year-to-year scholarship. Their grades must be submitted to the committee at least once a year. We congratulate these individuals and wish them luck in their future endeavors.
