FOP Scholarship Information
Once again it is time to consider
applying for those scholarships. The New Jersey Fraternal Order of Police is
offering a Scholarship Assistance Program.
All members are reminded that
you must be a parent or guardian in good standing of the New Jersey Fraternal
Order of Police. Also be aware that the applicant MUST BE POSTMARKED NO LATER
THAN MARCH 1st OF THE YEAR OF APPLICATION.
In order to apply for the
Scholarship Assistance Program, you must contact the state office directly and
an application will be mailed to you.
The awards were based on scholastic merit,
economic need, and the applicant's stated goals in life. Each applicant supplied
high school transcripts. They were not required
to be law enforcement hopefuls, but had to pledge to complete all four years of
college study.
State Secretary Wayne Winkler and his two committee
members, Robert Fox,
The six
recipients now must maintain at least a C average in order to retain the
year-to-year scholarship. Their grades must be submitted to the committee at
least once a year. We congratulate these individuals and wish them luck in their
future endeavors.
