The New Jersey State Fraternal Order of Police announces a revision to IAPP Section 4.2.5

For Immediate Release for New Jersey Fraternal Order of Police

As many of you know, several months ago the NJ Attorney General’s Office issued a revision to IAPP Section 4.2.5, which severely undermined the ability of employees and their representatives to exercise what is commonly referred to as the Weingarten right during investigatory and disciplinary interviews. The FOP, along with partner law enforcement associations, opposed this revision and initiated litigation to preserve the rights of its members. I’m pleased to inform you, that after months of discussions with the Acting Attorney General’s team, a new version of IAPP Section 4.2.5 was issued which reinforces the Weingarten right for all represented law enforcement officers and their Unions. The FOP is proud of this outcome and appreciates your support through this process.
