Who Can Join the NJFOP?
Any full-time, sworn law enforcement officer with arrest power who is employed by a government entity may become a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
This includes any regularly appointed or elected and full-time employed law enforcement officer of the United States, or any state or political subdivision or agency thereof.
Individuals who have honorably retired from such employment because of length of service or disability may also apply. Each local lodge has its own requirements regarding membership for retired law enforcement officers. Please contact your local lodge for membership eligibility.
