Despite the overwhelming and bipartisan support in both the Assembly and the Senate, Governor Christie issued a conditional veto to our legislation offering members of the PFRS the opportunity to make decisions on how our retirement savings are managed. More specifically, he called for a restructured Board of Trustees and to tie it to sick leave pay out reform. This is just unacceptable.
Attached is a combined response from FOP, PBA, and FMBA to Governor Christie’s conditional veto! You can be sure that our unions will continue to fight to advance this legislation and will exhaust every option available us to get it enacted.
