    It is with the deepest regrets and sympathy that I report the loss of a New Jersey State Trooper Anthony Raspa. Raspa, 24, was on patrol with Trooper Gene Hong, 29, on Interstate 195 near mile marker 9 when their car hit a deer at about 12:48 a.m. Saturday. This hero was taken from us in a car accident with a deer on Rt 195 in Freehold. The Trooper Hong in the car survived and was released from the hospital.…

  • NJ Senate Fails to Override Gov's Veto of S-1778, the First Responders Bill

    August 19, 2013 NJFOP thanks all of our members who wrote, called, and emailed members of the State Senate urging them to vote “yes” on Governor Christie’s veto of our First Responders Bill.  The New Jersey State Senate failed to override Governor Christie’s veto of the First Responders Bill by a 22-14. All Democratic Senators  present voted “yes” for the override except Senator Dick Cody, who abstained. All Republican Senators voted No, except for three who abstained.
