  • Surviving Officer shot in Camden receives visit from FOP Pres and call from Gov-elect!

    Today was a great day for NJ FOP!!! You may recall that one of our Camden County Metro brothers was shot in the line of duty on November 1, 2017 in the City of Camden. Officer Patrick O’Hanlon survived that shooting and was able to disarm and subdue assailant, 19-year Delronn Mahan of Lindenwold.     Governor Chris Christie has signed Assembly Bill No. 2690/Senate Bill No. 1944 that expands list of Retired Law Enforcement Officers Eligible to Carry Handguns.   • Assemblyman Benson continues to work for fair compensation for public employees injured by inmates or detainees

    TRENTON) -Last month, we reported that an FOP-initiated piece of legislation (S596/A3422) that would allow certain public employees continue to receive fair compensation after being forced out of work because of injuries resulting from being attacked while supervising inmates or detainees had advanced to the Governor’s desk.
